The name of Roseville's new soccer complex revealed

The complex is expected to open in late 2025 with social events and tournaments starting in 2026, according to Roseville.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville City Council approved the naming rights for a new multi-million dollar soccer complex Wednesday night.

The Placer Valley Soccer Complex will be the name of the new facility. It's a $5 million, 12-year naming rights agreement, according to the city of Roseville.

“It’s another strategy to expand sports tourism for Placer Valley Tourism and the community,” Kim Summers, CEO of Placer Valley Tourism and @the Grounds, home of the Roebbelen Center, said in a statement. “The soccer complex checks another big box.”

The soccer complex is located in West Roseville at 2600 Westbrook Boulevard. Once complete, it will have 10 lighted, artificial turf fields as well as amenities including restrooms, shade structures, concessions and parking. It's designed for multiple sports including soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, rugby, and quadball, also known as quidditch. The complex is expected to open in late 2025 with social events and tournaments starting in 2026.

“We are thrilled to officially introduce the Placer Valley Soccer Complex,” Jill Geller, Roseville Parks, Recreation & Libraries Director, said in a statement. “Our partnership with Placer Valley Tourism is a natural fit given our shared commitment to advancing sports tourism in Roseville. Their financial support will help with the continued development and maintenance of the complex, ensuring it remains a top-tier facility that provides both recreational and economic benefits to the community for years to come.”

The total construction budget for the project is $61 million.

Placer Valley Tourism says the complex is expected to bring large sports tournaments to the region and host more than 600,000 athletes and spectators each year. The sports complex is expected to generate at least $15 million for the local economy through hotel reservations and restaurants, according to Placer Valley Tourism.

The complex is set to be used by Placer United and the Roseville Soccer Club, according to Placer Valley Tourism.

“Up until now, our training model has been spread across various fields throughout Placer County,” Kevin Unsworth, Director of Boys Coaching for Placer United, said in a statement. The organization also has a 27,000-square-foot indoor facility in Rocklin. “With the opening of the Placer Valley Soccer Complex, we’ll be able to bring nearly 1,000 athletes through this facility each week, fostering a stronger sense of club culture and unity.”

The Roseville City Council also approved a three-year naming rights agreement for two plazas in the complex. The Roseville Automall North Plaza and Roseville Automall South Plaza are the names as part of the $120,000 agreement.

Besides the soccer fields, there will also be a perimeter walking path, an accessible playground and more than 900 parking spaces.
